DOCSA CLIVER: One Free Orange Raffle Ticket Per Paid Attendees.
Donated by Dr Peter Millar.

Ladies and Gentlemen, may I present the DOCSA CLIVER. A one of a kind tribute to Clive(r) Cussler.
As most of you know there were a number of copies of Raise the Titanic! which had his name mispelt as
Cliver Cussler on the cover. Clive even signed some copies as Cliver. (Note; US Book Club Reprint Hardcover Edition 1998, Viking Press. 1976. ISBN 1-56865-869-9.)

For the Cussler convention I usually donate a signed book or two as prizes, but this year I thought I'd go
onebetter and do what DOXA don't and donate a watch.

Many people thought the DOXA Cussler should have had an orange dial, well I tried to make one.
Unfortunately, it is very difficult to get the color or the coverage right so it ended up more red than I
wantedand somewhat spotty, but I think it adds to the charm.

I removed any branding from the case, crown and bracelet. Ground down and polished the caseback and
polished the bezel. I also lumed the dial. I was going to throw the whole ensemble in a bucket of gravel and shake the bejeezeus out of it to try to mimic the look of the DOXA Cussler, but that was always going to be a risk incase I just ruined it so that's why I ended up polishing bits.

I wanted to engrave DOCSA CLIVER on the caseback but the only people who would do it near me wanted a fortune so unless I get out my dremel and make a complete mess of doing it, polished caseback it is.

So for Cussler Con attendees this year, I hope you like Doc's DOCSA....get it..... CLIVER raffle prize. There will only ever be one.

Tech stuff. The movement is a SEIKO NH35. Totally bullet proof, should last for ever. If it craps out they can be bought for 40 bucks and any watchmaker would change it in 10 minutes. No sending back to DOXA, waiting 5 months and spending 500 bucks on this bad boy. This is just how Pitt and Giordino like it.
